Kitchen electrical fire brings crews to Lisbon house

LISBON – Firefighters work at 303 W. Main St., on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010. Lisbon Fire Chief Joe Long said two people were inside the house when a small electrical fire started in the kitchen around 10 p.m. They were able to escape without injuries, said Long. Lisbon and Mount Vernon firefighters worked the site for about 90 minutes after being dispatched. Long said the family was able to stay at their home overnight. “There was a lot of smoke, not a lot of fire,” added Long. (Christopher Pratt/SourceMedia Group News)
